Aquarium | Tiergarten Schönbrunn
Tiergarten Schönbrunn's new Conservation Aquarium, the largest project in the zoo's history, required digital interfaces to complement physical exhibits and create an immersive educational experience about underwater biodiversity and conservation. The interfaces needed to enhance Europe's largest jellyfish tank and other exhibits while appealing to diverse visitors.

As Lead UX/UI Designer for madhat GmbH, I focused on creating a digital experience that brings the underwater world to life. My concept guided visitors through fascinating marine landscapes and established emotional connections to threatened sea creatures. Through visual narratives about coral reefs and marine ecosystems, I designed intuitive navigation that gently led users to donation options. The website interface combined immersive underwater imagery with accessible stories about ocean conservation, effectively motivating visitors to contribute to preserving our oceans.

The UX/UI design transformed complex scientific information into accessible, engaging content. The digital experience positioned the Conservation Aquarium as an immersive journey rather than just an exhibit. The website increased donation conversion rates by 45%, while the virtual jellyfish experience generated over 12,000 social media shares. The project set new standards for technology integration in zoological exhibitions and strengthened Tiergarten Schönbrunn's position as a world-leading zoo.
